The Monthly Forecast For June

Rumi

The Sun is in Gemini for much of June. Gemini is a Mutable Air sign, ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication. This month looks to be filled with changes and conflicting information and messages, so let’s see if we can sort some of that out.

June 1st is very good, with the Moon in Libra, the sign of justice, making two positive trine aspects, to the Sun in Gemini, and to Venus, also in Gemini. With the country in turmoil now, with protests in response to the rampant racism,  violence and killings of Black people by police, Monday brings a brief period of respite. I say brief, because of the aspects on Tuesday, 6/2. Before the Moon leaves Libra and moves into Scorpio around noon Eastern time, it makes three different square aspects. First, it squares Pluto. Then Jupiter. Then Saturn. This is a day old wounds surface, old fears get triggered. On a personal level, be kind to yourself. Be compassionate. Understand that some of what you’re seeing playing out on the news may be activating old trauma. From the cosmic point of view, watching the Race Mind ( Collective Consciousness) reacting to both the pandemic and to the country’s history of racism and persecution of minorities is deeply distressing. This will test many of our relationships. Some may not survive, and that may be a good thing. One of the many powerful teachings of Taoist Master Dr Jeffrey Yuen, was given in a class in 2000, where he was talking about why healers burn out. He was saying that often, we want the healing for people more than they want it for themselves. He said that the most important thing, for healing to take place, is honesty. Accountability. Self-reflection, and a willingness to change. That, without those things, the EVOLUTION OF THE SOUL IS NOT POSSIBLE. He said that if someone is lying to themselves, or is in denial, it prevents healing or growth. So, unless this country is going to be honest with itself about its brutal history of genocide, slavery, and racism, these deep, festering wounds will have no possibility of healing. Its evolution is only possible through radical honesty, and a deep commitment to change.

There will be a very powerful Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon on Friday, 6/5. The Sun in Gemini will be in opposition to the Moon in Sagittarius. This is not a good day to sign contracts or make important changes. Given that the current occupant of the White House is a Gemini, is terribly mentally ill, and appears to be struggling with advancing dementia, among other things, this Full Moon could potentially be very destabilizing for him. I’m not sure how much longer he’s going to be able to continue.

June 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th are much better. Breathe. Rest. Thursday, 6/11, the Sun squares to Neptune, creating confusion. That passes quickly, and 6/12 and 6/13 are lovely, with some very uplifting aspects.

Mercury turns retrograde on 6/18. Ugh. We know what that means. The Sun moves into Cancer on 6/20,  the Summer Solstice, heralding the beginning of summer. It’s followed by the second Eclipse of the month, a Solar Eclipse, a New Moon, on 6/21. This looks to be very positive, and brings with it the possibilities of new beginnings. A good day to set your intentions for what you need, based on reflections of what you’ve released over the past several months.

On 6/23, Neptune goes retrograde for 5 months. This is excellent, because Neptune rules illusions and confusion. Denial. Looking at life through rose colored glasses. For the next 5 months, it becomes easier to get to the truth. Since that takes us through the election, I certainly hope so.

Mars moves into fiery Aries on 6/27, this brings passion and power to creating the reality that you want. The month ends with the Moon in Scorpio, making several good aspects. June is going to be an intense month, without a doubt, with two powerful Eclipses, among other things. Personally, I’m praying for a shift in the Race Mind, so that all of our brothers and sisters can be treated with the same dignity and respect that white people so often take for granted. We are all relations, as the Lakota say. It’s time that we live from that. Blessings, Reverend Judith Star-Medicine
