July Monthly Forecast

The first three weeks of July the Sun is in Cancer, a Water sign. The key words for Cancer are “ I Feel”. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so aspects to the Moon will be even more important than usual. July starts off with a New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, on 7/2, at 10 degrees of Cancer. The Moon also makes a sextile to Uranus, the planet of freedom and liberation at the same time. These aspects set the stage for 7/4, Independence Day. Declare yourself free of all old habits, patterns, and circumstances that have held you back, and come fully into the moment. Every moment affords us the opportunity for a new beginning.

On 7/5, the Moon trines Jupiter, the planet of optimism, faith, and blessings. Trust in yourself and in Spirit. On 7/7, Mercury goes Retrograde again, until 7/31. So annoying. 7/11 is very good, with a Grand Trine involving the Sun, Moon, and Neptune in the Water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. This is exquisite. Dream big, set your intentions, push through obstacles.

The Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse on 7/16 is powerful, the second Eclipse of the month. It’s an opportunity to release deep old fears and trauma, with the Moon in Capricorn conjunct to both Saturn and Pluto. This is very alchemical, with Pluto ruling the Kidneys in Chinese medicine, the home of the Void. Saturn rules the Spleen and family of origin issues. Both are Root Chakra planets. This can be a reset of the Divine Blueprint. A return to our original destiny. A time of shedding, purging, releasing. Let go. Move in radical faith and wisdom. Align with the Higher Self. Release attachments to outcome.

7/21 and 7/22 are also very good. The Sun enters Leo on 7/22, shifting the energy from emotions to passion. 7/24 is a little difficult, inviting us to push beyond those limiting fear thoughts. 7/25 and 7/26 are much better.

We have a second New Moon on 7/31, when Mercury turns direct. This time, the Sun and Moon are conjunct in Leo. Celebrate the Fire Element, which is passion for life, love, creativity, spontaneity, laughter, joy. Embrace the fire. Choose to be the light of the world.

May this month fulfill all of your dreams. Blessings to all, Judith

What Being A Minister Means To Me

Art by Kinuko Craft

My spiritual path in this incarnation formally began when I entered the convent to become a nun when I was 12. I entered a cloister as a postulant, where I remained for just under a year, when my mother’s mental health crisis resulted in my father bringing me home, to take care of her, and my three younger brothers. I was devastated. One of my commitments in life has always been to walk a path of service and love. I’ve never deviated from that path.

I was ordained as an interfaith Minister in 1996. I decided to do that for a number of reasons, most importantly because I had a number of high-risk adolescents in my practice, and I discovered that clergy could not be kept out of hospitals and prisons, where at risk kids are liable to end up. I remember the day I was ordained. The ordination ceremony was so beautiful, with flowers, candles, and friends gathered to witness a very sacred moment. The prayers during the ceremony uplifted all of us. It was the realization of a dream that began at 12, and had never been given up on.

Today, I performed the ordination ceremony for a friend. It was just as emotional and exquisite as mine had been. There are no words to describe the recognition of a part of oneself that is many lifetimes old. It’s as if something locks into place within you, on an energetic level. It brought me incredible joy.

Since 1996, I’ve performed many weddings, helped people write their vows, and, yes, counseled clients in hospitals and a few prisons. Most importantly, my commitment to living a life of love, kindness, and compassion for all those in need of help has been a sacred one. The title of Reverend in front of my name denotes that my counseling practice is a spiritual one, not a secular one. No one in need is turned away. Healing the soul is sacred to me.

There is a candle lighting ceremony at the end of the ordination. In it, we are reminded that light is necessary for life, and we are being recognized and invited to be “ the light of the world”.

Becoming a Minister changed people’s perception of me, but it didn’t change my truth: I am here to serve, to teach, to offer aid in difficult times, but most importantly, to be the light of the world. I always have been, and always will be, that.  I am a Druid Priestess. My ministry is dedicated to helping people find their magic, their gifts, and to follow their dreams. I’m grateful for the Universal Brotherhood Movement, in supporting the spiritual path of so many. I’m sending love to all who are called to a path of service, and who choose to be the light of the world. Blessings to all, Reverend Judith Star-Medicine.

Monthly Forecast For June

June starts out with an intense New Moon in Gemini on 6/3. The Sun and Moon are conjunct in Gemini, with the Moon opposing Jupiter in Sagittarius, and square to Neptune in Pisces. This is a cosmic invitation to overextend yourself. Decline the invitation. Neptune in a square aspect represents illusion, denial, confusion, deceit. Avoid substances. Don’t allow your empathy to hijack you. Strengthen your faith and your boundaries.

6/4 and 6/5 have the Moon in Cancer, the nurturing sign. The Moon conjuncts Mercury, the planet of communications, on 6/4, as Mercury moves into Cancer. This is an excellent aspect of self care. 6/9 is also good, a day of inspiration and insights, and a willingness to move forward.

June 10th is complicated, with the Moon at the end of Virgo forming two powerful trines, one to Pluto in Capricorn, and the other to Saturn, also in Capricorn. This strengthens the will, held in the Kidneys, in Chinese medicine, and gives patience and tenacity. This time, the Moon opposes Neptune in Pisces, rather than the opposition it made to Jupiter on the New Moon. It’s going to square Jupiter in Sagittarius now. This is somewhat similar to the dynamics of 6/3. The opposition to Neptune indicates a lot of spin doctoring going on in the world. This may trigger people who grew up with a family of origin where denial, substances, lying, or evasion of personal responsibility played a role. The two trines offset this, giving the grit and determination to get to the truth. For me, lying is a dealbreaker. Honor and integrity mean everything, love and lies cannot coexist. If you choose to live from love, dishonesty is not a part of your journey. This aspect reveals and exposes lies. Good.

June 14th is fabulous. The Moon in Scorpio is doing the happy dance, trining Neptune, trining Mercury, trining Mars, and sextiles both Saturn and Pluto. Wow. Inspiration, grace, wisdom, and alchemy. It doesn’t get any better than this.

The Full Moon is on 6/17. It isn’t as powerful as the New Moon, but it does offer a Trine to Uranus, the planet of genius, originality, and eccentricity. Be as eccentric as possible.

Okay, a heads-up for 6/19. The Moon conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. That, in and of itself, is fine. Intense, but that happens every month. This month, Mars joins the party, opposing both of them. Here’s what that could look like. Mars is the planet that rules a lot of things, fire, weapons, passion, anger, fighting. Pluto rules the subconscious mind, the will, force, bullying, coercion. On a global level, this is not a warm, fuzzy group of aspects. Especially with the demon currently occupying the Oval Office. His corruption is being exposed. That can make a malignant narcissist totally lose their shit. This is a volatile cluster of aspects. On a personal level, don’t engage with narcissists. Avoid drama. Lay low. Monitor your Throat Chakra. Do boundary work with abusive people, but only to the degree necessary. Things escalate quickly with these planets. People with hidden rage issues come out of the woodwork with this grouping. This is not the day to flip people off on the road. Trust me.

6/21 is the Summer Solstice, where the Sun enters Cancer, and summer officially begins. The 21st and 22nd are lovely. What a relief after 6/19. The month closes out with some lovely aspects on 6/27,6/28, and 6/29.

Things are blooming, things are blossoming. The hummingbirds are enjoying my feeders. Here in the mountains, life is magical, the streams are flowing, the sounds of the peepers fill the evenings. The bears are wandering around, so no bird feeders for us. Not unless we want bears on our deck again. May this month bring you fun, laughter, cookouts, barbecues, the joys of nature, good friends, and most of all, love. Blessings, Judith
