March Monthly Forecast

Karol Bak, artist.

March starts off with a Full Moon, 3/1, with the Sun in Pisces opposing the Moon in Virgo. With Venus trine to Jupiter, we can expect a day of Justice, the law being upheld, optimism, faith renewed, and good news. Saturn trines the Moon, so patience is rewarded.

3/4 is excellent, with the Sun in Pisces conjunct to Neptune in Pisces. Neptune rules the Astral Plane, and Divine Love. This is a wonderful day to reflect, to go within, to meditate. 3/6 is even better, with the Moon in Scorpio trine to the Sun and Neptune in Pisces, while it forms a sextile to alchemical Pluto. This is great for magical intention work, and for healing old wounds, since Pluto rules the Shadow self. Dream the life you want. 3/7 is another winner, where the Moon moves into fiery Sagittarius, trining Venus and Mercury. This encourages passion, and a willingness to speak ( Mercury) from the heart ( Venus).

3/11, 3/12, and 3/13 are all good, with numerous planets supporting optimism, the willingness to change, and self esteem.

The New Moon on the 17th, with the Sun and Moon conjunct at 27 degrees of Pisces, is magical. This is a day of infinite possibilities. The Vernal Equinox is on 3/20, as the Sun enters Aries. This is also a seriously magical day. We have some lovely aspects, as well as moving into the Wood Element in Chinese Medicine. The Wood Element is about change. It’s about movement forward, momentum, and choices. What changes do you need to make? Now is the time.

Mercury turns retrograde on 3/22. I know, so annoying. Speaking of annoying, 3/24 calls for patience and slowing down the impulse to squash people like a bug. The Sun squares Mars, the planet of aggression and haste, while the Moon opposes it. Lovely. Everyone is a cranky pants, so try not to engage.

The 28th is wonderful, with trines galore. This is good, because the month ends with a Full Moon again, another Blue Moon, with the Sun in Aries opposing the Moon in Libra. This Full Moon is not as warm and fuzzy as the first one this month. For the twenty four hour period around it, stay grounded, patient, and calm. Let people do what they’re going to do, believe what they want to believe. Don’t engage, rescue, or try to convince anyone of anything. Let go. Let go. Let go.

March looks to be an amazing month, full of blessings and wonderful opportunities for growth. Welcome the springtime, the Wood Element, and the new momentum. It’s awesome. Blessings to all, Judith

Obsidian Dreams

Obsidian has always been one of my favorite stones, for a number of reasons. It is formed from volcanic activity, literally forged in fire. It is one of the most alchemical and shamanic stones that there is, providing a living link to the Void, as well as powerful psychic protection. Obsidian vibrates to the planet Pluto, the ultimate alchemist. In Chinese medicine, Obsidian is said to strengthen the Kidneys, the home of the Will, the Void, the supernatural, and the mystical. It rules the Root Chakra, the Chakra that has to do with survival issues, faith, trust, and feeling safe. Obsidian supports all of that.

I bought my first Obsidian pendant 30 years ago. I’ve had a love affair with Obsidian for most of my life. I place it in the four directions in my office, as well as having it at the head of my bed and on the altar table in my room.  One of my guides teaches that it is the only stone that can dismantle negative alien energetic patterns, and return them to the Void. Powerful.

I just received a shipment of seven 2 1/2” silver sheen Obsidian Spheres, ( I was completely sold out of that size, having only the 5” and 6” Spheres left.) I also received seven more Rainbow Obsidian pendants set in Sterling Silver,( the last one that I had sold today, so, perfect timing. ) I still have Obsidian bracelets in stock, I bought ten of those last month. They just fly out of here. I also have Obsidian Heart sculptures available.

I buy all of my Obsidian from a dealer in Mexico, the home of the best Obsidian in the world. I was able to reach him at the Tucson show, right before it closed. So, my shipment arrived last week, and I will be listing it over the next few days. I’m so happy to have more of this magical stone person available. Sometimes I see it in my dreams. ( Those are magical dreams.) I love Obsidian. There’s nothing like it. You can never have too much magic, in my opinion. Blessings, Judith

Why Women Die

Artist Karol Bak

Today a White House staffer resigned due to allegations of domestic violence by two ( yes, you read that right), two of his ex-wives. These allegations included photos. The response from General Kelly regarding the staffer was that “ he is a man of integrity, and a good friend.” Others, including Senator Orrin Hatch, who the staffer also worked for, encouraged the staffer “ to stay and fight” these allegations. This attitude of denial about domestic violence is why so many women die at the hands of intimate partners. Let’s look at some statistics, shall we?

From the NCADV, ( National Coalition Against Domestic Violence) “in the U.S, 20 people are abused by intimate partners EVERY MINUTE. There are more than 10 million abuse victims annually. 1 in 3 women have been physically abused by an intimate partner. 1 in 5 have been severely physically abused. 1 in 7 women have been stalked. On a typical day, domestic violence hotlines receive approximately 20,000 calls.”

1 in 3 female murder victims are killed by intimate partners. 19.3 million women have been stalked. These statistics are staggering. Unfortunately, the response we see across the board from men like those in the White House is always the same. Denial. Minimizing. Victim blaming. Blatant lying. Cover-ups. Let’s face it, the current President has allegations of sexual assault made against him by 19 different women, while openly bragging he can grab women by the pussy. And people still voted for him.

I have made no secret about being a survivor of domestic violence. Severe domestic violence. And you know what I heard from customers in our restaurants who knew nothing about what was going on in private? “ Oh, your husband is so charming “, or, “ you are so lucky to be married to a man like that”. People see what they want to see. The culture of patriarchy and misogyny that we live in makes it easy for men like this to get away with being violent bastards behind closed doors. Almost every survivor I know has heard the same things about her offender. It hurts.

Domestic violence crosses all communities, religions, and races. People may wonder why women don’t speak out. We do. 20,000 calls a day to hotlines is speaking out. Women tell friends, family members, therapists, and the police. They get restraining orders. They report stalking. So often, all of this ends in tragedy. Why? Because this has never been seen as the blight on humanity that it is. Women are just not valued as much as men. If men were being treated this way, it would be stopped.

I found the news today to be disgusting. The response from Kelly was appalling. Typical, but appalling. This, right here, is why women die at the hands of intimate partners. What has to happen to us for us to be believed? Believed about being raped, molested, beaten, emotionally abused, bullied, intimidated? Short of filming it as it’s happening, what proofs can we offer to a culture that doesn’t believe us, or if they do, doesn’t care enough to enact laws to protect us?

I say, it’s time for this to end. I say that those of us who have survived this are fucking miracles. I’m lucky to be alive. I made it out. For all of those who have, own your courage. You know what it took to escape, and then, to heal. For those of you still in it, don’t ever give up. Tell someone. Keep going. Many of us made it, you can, too. I send love and light to all of us, millions of us, over decades of this. Centuries, really. We are fierce. And to the deniers and enablers, the perpetrators of violence, we’re coming for you. Our voices will not be silenced. Your time is over. Your Karma is catching up with you. I have two words for you. Fuck. You. ( Namaste). Judith
