Monthly Forecast For January

Well, January certainly starts out with a bang, with not one, but two Super Moons. The first and largest Super Moon of the year will be January 1st, at 9:24 PM Eastern time. This one is a doozy. It will oppose the Capricorn Sun at 11 degrees of Cancer, while making a number of other aspects, which I will get to in a minute. The Moon in Cancer is about home and security, and what nurtures us. The Sun in Capricorn is about wisdom, patience, and discipline. This Full Moon asks us about how we nurture ourselves, as opposed to what drives us, what our priorities are in terms of self-care. It opposes Saturn and Venus first, both in Capricorn, before opposing the Sun. Saturn represents both fear and our work ethic. Here, we are being invited to look at how we may overextend ourselves to feel secure. With Venus, the planet of love, beauty, charm, fun, what are we willing to sacrifice or give up to feel safe? Are we ever allowed to just have fun? To feel joy? The Moon will then trine Neptune in the evening, an aspect of mysticism and spirituality. This is an excellent time for ceremony and intention work. How high can you fly?

1/2 is powerful, where the Moon continues to connect, trining both Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio. Here comes the energy, momentum, and optimism. This is a “ go for it” aspect. Another phenomenal day is 1/6, where the Moon  in Virgo makes a series of trines and sextiles to five planets. Wow. Mars conjuncts to Jupiter at the same time, serious optimism, faith, and movement forward. One word of caution, don’t speed. Slow down.

1/9 is excellent, with the Sun at 19 degrees of Capricorn conjunct to Venus. Do something loving for yourself or someone else. The Sun and Venus both conjunct Pluto, the alchemist. Pluto rules the Void, the place of limitless possibilities. What type of love can you imagine manifesting? What old, limiting beliefs about love do you need to release? This is an excellent day to work with Rose Quartz, Obsidian, or Rhodonite, if you connect to stones. They will amplify this energy. 1/11 is also wonderful, with the Moon in Scorpio making five positive aspects.

The New Moon on 1/16 is a powerhouse, and may shake things up politically, with the Moon in Capricorn conjunct to Pluto, then moving on to conjunct the Sun. More powerful truths revealed, and lies exposed. Good.

1/31 brings us the second Full Moon of the month, called a Blue Moon. It is also an eclipse, and the second Super Moon of the month. It will also be a “ Blood Moon”, due to the red color. There is a lot of folklore and superstition regarding Blood Moons. The evangelicals tie it into the “ End Times” ( I know, aren’t they always doing that? What happened in 2015, I must have missed the last End Times. You mean I bought all those canned goods for nothing?)  So, aside from the fear police, this total Lunar eclipse is a Blue Moon and a Blood Moon. Wow. Rare. It should be spectacular. The Sun will be in Aquarius, opposing the Moon in Leo. Find a good spot to see it, it should be amazing.

This should be an eventful month. I wish all of you the best, with all of your hopes and dreams fulfilled. Blessings to all, Judith

What? A Woman’s Response To Mansplaining Misogyny

On top of all of the sexual abuse revelations coming out now, we also have high profile men “ mansplaining”  to women the importance of nuance in talking about our experiences of harassment, discrimination, and sexual assault. Right. Matt Damon recently shared his thoughts on this, explaining that there are different levels of abuse, some more serious than others, and that they should not be “ conflated”, and was immediately taken to task by a fellow actor. The absolute hubris of a man explaining our experience of misogyny to women stunned me. Different levels of abuse? No man has any idea what it’s like to incarnate into a female body, and begin experiencing abuse almost immediately, in some cases. Every woman I know, EVERY WOMAN, has experienced some level of misogyny directed at her in her lifetime. All sexual abuse, harassment, and discrimination has its roots in misogyny. All of it is horrible. All of it is coming from a cultural sickness that is centuries old.

What’s next for these guys, do they use their platform of white privilege to explain the importance of nuance when we discuss racism? That discrimination, voter suppression, dehumanizing, demeaning, name calling, isn’t as bad as lynching or police brutality? What the fuck is wrong with these people? How narcissistic do you have to be, to feel entitled to hold forth on topics that you have no idea about, and have never directly experienced? There is no “ nuance”. It’s all sick.

So, I say again, what? Seriously. To any man out there attempting to minimize the impact of a lifetime of misogyny upon all of us, a word of advice. Stop. As in, don’t even. We have had it. We’re done with this shit, and we will hand you your ass if you keep this up. Here’s the only thing we want to hear from anyone with external plumbing. “We feel your pain, and we will stand with you. We’re sorry that some men are predators. We believe you, and will do everything we can to help you change this world.” That’s it.

Here is one final thought for the assholes who still believe they have the right to talk about abuse to women: In case you were wondering. Blessings, Reverend Judith Star-Medicine

Spirit Walker

There are a number of different kinds of healing modalities. There is the Western psychotherapeutic model, ( talk therapy), somatic release models, energy healing, etc. They all are effective, up to a point. Where they stop short, is in dealing with trauma seated deeply within, that has attached itself to the soul. ( Not the Spirit, the divinity of an individual. Nothing touches that). The Western model is designed to address the Ego construct, the identity of an individual, and that is not what we are. The Ego construct is the most superficial, outermost layer of our consciousness, whose job is to create the illusion of separation from All That Is. This illusion is what we seek to dispel through meditation, and spiritual cultivation.

As a Mystic, as an Empath, as a “ Walker Between  the Worlds”, my approach to healing is entirely different than any of those modalities. From childhood, I’ve had the ability to move fluidly from one realm to another. It’s as effortless as breathing for me. This becomes important in my work as a clinician, where I don’t need a client to describe what they are feeling, as they are processing something. I can feel it. Not only can I feel it, I can step directly into their internal landscape, and join them in their experience. I am stepping into an alternate reality from my own. In that moment, I am offering them a kind of support that is real, because they can actually feel me inside of them, energetically speaking. It’s not intrusive, because they have invited me in. There is no boundary violation, nor is there an energy exchange of any kind. There are just two souls communicating on a profound level, one bearing witness to the other, from a place of shared experience. I am sharing the emotional experience of the moment, because I have stepped through Space and Time to reach the soul of the person sitting with me. “Believing “ what the person is sharing, remembering, or reliving is not relevant, because I’m DIRECTLY EXPERIENCING it with them. It’s beyond the concept of “ belief”. I’m living it with them. In that moment, they are not alone. They feel seen, they feel heard, on a soul level. All healing starts there.

In Classical Chinese Medicine, the Hun, the Ethereal Soul, is held in the Liver. It is Yang in nature, ascending, and is connected to the Astral Plane. It records our life experiences. Restoring the balance of the Ethereal Soul is a part of my path as a Walker. It isn’t my empathy for others that makes me a Walker. Rather, it’s the compassion that pulls me into someone’s inner world. Growing up with a mother with severe mental illness definitely strengthened my inherent abilities in this direction. I was always psychic, yes, but her fears during her psychotic episodes deeply moved me, calling to the compassionate part of my nature. Tracking her in the Void, calming her, and using my voice to comfort her, and bring her back, became second nature to me.

For someone to do this, they have to be anchored to something inside of the self that is bedrock. This is not the Ego, which is subject to change. There has to be an unshakable link to the core of oneself, the essence of oneself, that allows this kind of fluidity, a radical knowledge of oneself. It’s a kind of cosmic perception of the nature of reality that transcends the Ego construct, and connects directly to the Void, held in the Kidneys. This is a result of spiritual cultivation, and infinite compassion. It’s a living bridge within the self of the Kidney Qi and Liver Qi, the Essence and the Ethereal Soul, with the Heart as the guiding principle.

In my work, compassion, empathy, and my link to the supernatural inform everything I do, every choice I make. I love my work, and feel deeply honored to be invited into someone’s journey. Being a Spirit Walker is not a teachable thing, in my opinion. You are born this way or you are not. You won’t see me teaching “ workshops “ on being a Walker, anymore than you would see me teaching a workshop on being a Shaman. The idea is ludicrous.

Given the volume of accusations coming out now, by women who have been sexually harassed, assaulted, raped, I want to say to all those coming forward: I believe you. Bless you all for your courage, knowing you will be attacked, and coming forward anyway. Breaking the cycle of shame, secrets, and silence is essential now, more than ever. And to those who defend predators, we see you. We know who you are, and why it’s in your best interest to discredit those who come forward. News flash for you: it won’t work. Everything is being revealed now. I stand with women everywhere, and have spent my entire incarnation devoted to healing this population. I send my prayers and my love to all of you. I am so proud of you. #IBelieveYou. Blessings, Judith
