About Leo

Leo is one of the strongest signs of the zodiac. Leo is a Fire sign, the second of the three Fire signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Leo people are warm, friendly, and outgoing. They make natural leaders, and are honorable and trustworthy. Leo is a Fixed sign, Fixed Fire, so along with Scorpio, ( Fixed Water), Aquarius, ( Fixed Air), and Taurus, ( Fixed Earth), they share the same fixity of purpose and perfectionism as the others. Leo is ruled by the Sun, which is Yang in nature. In the body, Leo rules the heart and the spine. Its corresponding metal is Gold, which is fitting, because all Leo's are rulers, in one way or another. The Tarot card associated with Leo is the Strength card, a nude goddess astride a magnificent male lion, which is the animal associated with Leo.

Leo has one of the strongest wills of all of the 12 signs of the zodiac. In fact, the key words for Leo are "I will". Learning the proper use of the will is important for anyone with the Sun, Moon, or Ascendent here. When a Leo is strong and balanced, the sense of self-worth and self-confidence shines through. When a Leo has been wounded, the person can struggle with those issues, or become dictatorial. Stubbornness is also a Leo trait, as is tenacity.

Leo is one of my favorite signs of the zodiac. My dad was a Leo, courageous, a decorated war hero, honorable and strong. A Leo makes a wonderful friend and ally. Their natural warmth draws people to them, to bask in that Solar fire.

The stones associated with Leo are Citrine, Sunstone, golden Calcite, and Ruby. The flower is the Sunflower. Essential oils that vibrate to Leo are Frankincense, Sandalwood, and the Citrus oils, Orange and Blood Orange, especially.
